Whether the current generation know it or not, harmonica was a mainstream of the harmonica education in Hong Kong. Harmonica is affordable, portable, and easy to learn. It is also a very popular and touching musical instrument. In the difficult era of 1950s and 1960s in Hong Kong, harmonica was the only musical instrument for the ordinary people to get in touch with music.
The book "Seventy Years of Hong Kong Harmonica" gives an account of the development of harmonica in Hong Kong for the past 70 years. More than a dozen of interviews with well-known harmonica players were conducted and documented, including pupils of masters Leung Yat-chiu and Fung On, Mr. Ho Kit-fun and the King's Harmonica Quintet. The book also carries articles written by harmonica players and composers, about how they were attached to this lovable musical instrument.
The author Mr. Johnny Chan is a Director of the Hong Kong Harmonica Association and a veteran harmonica player and researcher. Not only does he like to play harmonica, but he likes to collect harmonicas and MAKE harmonicas as well. He is well versed with the history of harmonica, especially with its history in Hong Kong.
現代的年青人可能不知道，口琴曾經是香港音樂教育的一大主流。口琴價錢便宜，方便攜帶，亦容易上手，是一種十分大眾化和富人情味的樂器。尤其在五、六十年代，香港正處於艱難歲月，口琴簡直就是平民大眾惟一能接觸到音樂的恩物。
《香港口琴七十年》講述香港口琴在這七十年來的發展，訪問了十多位香港著名的口琴家，包括梁日昭先生、口琴大師馮安先生的學生、何頡勳先生、英皇口琴五重奏等等。也包括由口琴家和作曲家親自撰寫的文章，講述他們怎樣與口琴結緣。
作者陳國勳先生是香港口琴協會的董事兼資深口琴家及研究者。他不但愛吹奏口琴，也愛收藏口琴、製造口琴，並且對口琴的歷史，特別是香港口琴的發展史十分熟悉。

香港中樂團音樂會 - 笙簧世界 (2004/03/14更新)
We are honoured to perform for the first time with Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra on 12 & 13 March 2004 (Friday & Saturday) 8pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. The concerts feature reed instruments which harmonica is one of them. We played two pieces which are specially arranged for harmonica quintet and Chinese orchestra:
Mui Kwong-chiu's Rhapsody of Color Clouds Chasing the Moon, arranged by the composer himself
Enesco's Rumanian Rhapsody No. 1, arranged by Chew Hee-chiat
The concerts are recorded by Radio Television Hong Kong and are broadcast on Radio 4 on 19 March (Friday) 8pm and 26 March (Friday) 1:15pm which can be listened online afterwards.
我們很榮幸能與香港中樂團首次合作演出。音樂會於二○○四年三月十二及十三日〔星期五及六〕晚上八時在香港文化中心音樂廳舉行，主題為包括口琴在內的笙簧類樂器。我們演出了兩首特別改編給口琴五重奏及中樂團的樂曲：
